DEEP WATERSet during a turbulent hurricane season in the Outer Banks of North Carolina, Deep Water is a daring and tender coming out story. This stunning short novel takes on youth and sexuality with loyalty, humor, and raw desire. When eighteen-year-old Mattison Burr jumps off a pier into a hurricane and survives, she must learn to withstand the storm within herself. Confronted as an outsider in her own world, Mattison develops an unhealthy girl crush on her best friend and rejects the boy her parents always dreamed she would be with. Only after a botched ménage à trios and a house nearly up in flames does Mattison begin to boldly tread on to the fringes of homosexuality. Once she discovers her truth, will she be rewarded?
