About the Author:
Maria Lega was born in North Miami Beach, FL. At three months old, she was adopted by an Italian-American mother and Colombian-American father; they raised her in Lauderhill, Florida. Growing up, Maria had to learn to accept her awkwardness and become her own person. Through all the rebellion and hard times, Maria was able to complete her first collection of poems, Seven Years of Sorrow. Maria is currently a student at Southern New Hampshire University studying English literature while juggling her responsibilities as her mother's caretaker and taking care of her eight-year-old son. She is currently working on two more projects which are set to be published this year.
